Tapping of the first keg

Two weeks before the first Sunday in October, the first mayor of Munich taps the first keg in the Schottenhamel tent and inaugurates the Oktoberfest.

Costumes and Riflemen Parade

The greatest traditional costume parade of the world is the grand highlight of Oktoberfest, taking part on the first Oktoberfest Sunday.

The second Oktoberfest Sunday starts with all orchestras of the large tents playing an open-air concert at the feet of the Bavaria statue.
