The well-established Volksfest host Lorenz Stiftl has been serving patrons in his own Oktoberfest tent since 2002.

The tent will be replaced by Münchner Stubn run by Kathrin Wickenhäuser-Egger and Alexander Egger. Lorenz Stiftl will host the new Schützenlisl at the Oide Wiesn.

While the tent's name “Zum Stiftl” only has been in existence since 2008, its eponym and host Lorenz Stiftl acquired the tent that is situated in front of the Löwenbräu tent already in 2002. This was the year when the professional Volksfest host, who is actually not from Munich, became the new owner of the Wienerwald tent.

Wienerwald was Germany’s first big restaurant chain and was entirely focused on chicken dishes. The successor of its Oktoberfest joint is still today focused on chicken.

Stiftl is well-known for its family day offer that includes two half chicken for the price of one.

The expensive reservations have to be tied to a menu for the whole table, which is surprising as the city of Munich actually doesn’t allow this constraint.

From noon to 5 pm a solo entertainer is present at the tent, followed by the band Zillertaler Gipfelstürmer who may be known by some fans of alpine folk schlager.
